1. Out Of Bounds : (Rule 27-1) Beyond any wall, fence, white line or white marker post that defines the boundary of the course. Also out of bounds : When playing the 5th hole the 18th and 9th holes are out of bounds.

 2. Water Hazards : (Rule 26) Water hazards are marked with yellow posts. Lateral water hazards are marked by red posts. It is a question of fact whether a ball that has not been found after having been struck toward a water hazard is in the hazard. In order to apply this Rule, it must be known or virtually certain that the ball is in the hazard. In the absence of such knowledge or certainty, the player must proceed under Rule 27-1.If a ball is in a water hazard or if it is known or virtually certain that a ball that has not been found is in a water hazard (whether the ball lies in water or not), the player may under penalty of one stroke:a. Play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5); or b. Drop a ball behind the water hazard, keeping the point at which the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind the water hazard the ball may be dropped; or c. As additional options available only if the ball last crossed the margin of a lateral water hazard, drop a ball outside the water hazard within two club-lengths of and not nearer the hole than (i) the point where the original ball last crossed the margin of the water hazard or (ii) a point on the opposite margin of the water hazard equidistant from the hole. When proceeding under this Rule, the player may lift and clean his ball or substitute a ball.

 3. Protection Of Young Trees & Irrigation Systems to Tree Wells : If such a tree identified clearly by a stake support or a players ball comes to rest inside a tree well interferes with a player’s stance or area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted and dropped without penalty, within one club length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, as prescribed in Rule 24-2b

 4. Paths, Bridges & Tee Markers : All artificial surfaces and sides of artificial paths are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2.

 5. Stones In Bunkers : Are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies).

 6. Fixed Sprinkler Heads & irrigation control Boxes : Are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2.

 7. Ground Under Repair : (Rule 25) Areas marked as GUR. Additionally any drainage runs,  all areas marked with blue stakes and sand covered areas around dead tree stumps are deemed GUR. The ball must be lifted and dropped without penalty, within one club length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole, as prescribed in rule 24-2b.
A player may place his ball only once, and it is in play when it has been placed (Rule 20-4). If the ball fails to come to rest on the spot on which it is placed, Rule 20-3d applies. If the ball when placed comes to rest on the spot on which it is placed and it subsequently moves, there is no penalty and the ball must be played as it lies, unless the provisions of any other Rule apply.
If the player fails to mark the position of the ball before lifting it or moves the ball in any other manner, such as rolling it with a club, he incurs a penalty of one stroke.
Note: “Closely-mown area” means any area of the course, including paths through the rough, cut to fairway height or less.

9. Distance Marker Posts & Distance-Measuring Devices : All distance marker posts (including measurements on top of fairway sprinkler heads) are measured to the front of the greens. White marker posts : 200 meters, Yellow marker posts : 150 meters, Red marker posts : 100 meters. Please note that all distances that are shown all par 3 tees are measured to the center of the greens. A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. gradient, windspeed, temperature, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional function is actually used.

10. Drop Zone 8th Hole : The drop zone on the 8th hole is on the ladies forward tee the one closest to the hazard and the dropping area is defined by the grass that has been cut to fairway height. (The ball to be dropped)

*PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULE:

Match play – Loss of hole; Stroke play – Two strokes.*If a player incurs the general penalty for a breach of this Local Rule, no additional penalty under the Local Rule is applied.

1. Texas Scramble format :
Each team shall consist of 3 or 4 players playing in the SAME team. All members of the team shall hit one tee shot on every hole. The team then selects one tee shot and continues play from that point. This procedure is repeated until the ball is holed out.

2. Number of Tee Shots Requirement :
In a team of FOUR MEMBERS, each player’s tee shot must be used at least FOUR times during the 18 holes competition. In a team of THREE MEMBERS, each player’s tee shot must be used at least FIVE times during the 18 holes competition. Tee Shots selected to represent the team for Novelty Prize contention MUST be used. Men tee off from the YELLOW tees and women from the RED tees.

3. Where to Play From : Shots From OTHER THAN the Putting Green. Ball to be PLACED :
Each team member must play his/her shot from within one club length of the selected shot (Except when on the putting green). It is not necessary for the player with the chosen tee shot to play first. Any team member can play first. However, the ball may not be placed closer to the hole. In addition, if the selected tee shot was in the fairway, each member must place his/ her ball in the fairway to play the next shot. Likewise, if the selected tee shot was in the rough, bunker, water hazard, fringe, etc., each member of the team must place the ball in, and play from, respectively, the rough, bunker, water hazard, fringe. etc. In every instance each team member may place the ball. Team members may rake bunkers between shots. All players may lift and clean the ball.

4. Where to Play From: Shots On the Putting Green. Ball to be PLACED :
Once the team’s balls have reached the putting green, the selected ball should be marked and another spot should be marked approximately 6 inches to the side, not nearer to the hole. This will allow the team to mark the ball so that all players can putt from the same spot without being disturbed by the ball marker. Once a ball is holed out, play is completed for that hole. Therefore, it is recommended that the remaining players do not putt out, but if a player putts and misses and then inadvertently knocks the ball into the hole, then that score counts. On the green, team members are allowed to position themselves on or close to an extension of the line of play or the line of putt behind the ball

5. Handicap Requirements :
A limit of 36 strokes (Men) and 36 strokes (Ladies) applies ... this limit is applied before Handicap Allowance has been calculated. Not Handicap Qualifier. It is important that the Competition Organizer balance all teams up fairly so has to avoid loading teams with low handicap players. So each team MUST consist of at least THREE or FOUR golfers who’s EGA Playing Handicaps total MUST be at least 38 or 48 respectively. There is no maximum limit to each team’s Playing Handicaps totals.

6. How to Determine Team Handicap and NETT Score :
Handicap Allowance is 1/10 of combined Handicaps (4 Player Teams) or 1/6 of combined Handicaps (3 Player Teams) or in a Pairs Texas Scramble the handicap allowance is 1/4 of the combined handicaps. Handicap Allowances will be calculated to one decimal place. Example: 3 members Team aggregate handicaps of 38 is divided by 12 = 3.2. / 4 members Team aggregate handicaps of 48 is divided by 10 = 4.8 Team Gross score = 68 Team Net Score = 63.2. Pairs Team aggregate handicap of 23 is divided by 4 = 5.7.

RULES : Please note that the Texas Scramble Golf format is not recognized as a form of play by the R&A (Fun Competition) and thus is not covered by the Rules of Golf. Therefore, it is a matter for the Committee in charge of the competition to decide upon any rules interpretations matters that may arise and they will be handled and resolved by the Tournament Competition Committee and there decision shall be final (Rule 34-3)
